Charlottetown Police would like to warn the public of a recent scam involving the purchasing of dogs using OLX.ca (Canadian based webpage for classified ads). Recently an individual purchased a puppy from OLX.ca, thinking she was purchasing a puppy from Charlottetown. Victim soon received an email from UPX-Pets Courier Service, indicating dog was in Quebec, and requesting an additional $1500 in insurance/shipment via Money Gram. Vicyim was informed at this time that once the puppy was delivered she receive a refund. Individuals should exercise caution when conducting business via classified webpages, and diverting from traditional methods.
